This course goes beyond the surface level problem solving and takes participants into the depths and complexity of root cause analysis. Participants must be experienced in problem solving methods with specific focus on the 5 Principles for Problem Solving. This course defines systemic root cause from the perspective a leading automotive OEM.  Participants move beyond basic problem solving to include alignment with “risk based thinking” and “preventive action”. Quality management system requirements for corrective action along with customer requirements are reviewed. Participants will experience group workshop sessions as well as an individual examination. This course is in a class of its own and sure to be at the top of every organization’s requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding barriers to systemic root cause
  • Be able to define the three levels of problem resolution
  • The final day of this course includes: participants evaluating a completed corrective action and completing a root cause case study. The case studies are extensive with both assignments evaluated to determine if participants qualify for “Systemic Root Cause Specialist”

Note: All participants receive a certificate of completion only participants passing the exams will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement as a Systemic Root Cause Specialist.
